Dutch singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Inge Lamboo is about to embark on a new phase in her career. On May 30, 2025, she will release her long-awaited second album ‘This Is How The Future Sounds’ via V2 Records, featuring a collaboration with legendary The Who guitarist Pete Townshend. Lamboo first gained attention through her unique mashups and covers on social media, catching the eye of artists such as Lindsey Buckingham, P!NK, and YUNGBLUD. With millions of views on TikTok and Instagram, she has built a loyal fanbase. On her new album, she blends country pop with contemporary pop and doesn't move back from delving into nostalgic-sounding songs. Producers such as Jan Schröder, Simon Gitsels, Niels van der Wielen, and Radboud Miedema have supported her in this endeavor. Tracks like ‘Call Out Your Name’, ‘Higher’, and ‘Bleed’ showcase her growth as an artist and producer.
A special collaboration on the album is with Pete Townshend. After one of her mashups went viral on Instagram, where she reimagined Arctic Monkeys' ‘Do I Wanna Know’ in a Fleetwood Mac style, the legendary guitarist from The Who took notice of Inge. What began as a spontaneous online interaction evolved into a unique musical connection. After several conversations via Instagram and email, Inge suggested that Pete play a guitar take on her new track ‘Call Out Your Name’. Townshend was immediately enthusiastic and experimented with different guitar sounds to perfectly match his signature style with Inge’s sound. The result is a powerful and dynamic track where his iconic playing and Inge's emotional songwriting blend seamlessly. This collaboration not only highlights Inge's versatility as an artist but also proves how music can bridge generations. On March 30, Inge will visit Pete and meet him at The Who's show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, where Inge will hand over.
“It was an honour to be asked to play guitar on one of Inge Lamboo’s new tracks. I follow her work on Instagram and she is making terrific Indie-style music with some really smart twists. The guitar work on her tracks is perfectly wonderful without me, so I decided to throw some mud at the wall – in the old ‘60s style, and amazingly it worked. Inge is a special talent, we should ALL look out for her.” - Pete Townshend
the 7” single of ‘Call Out Your Name’, is set for release on April 12 for Record Store Day. Elton John has already received the single through Pete Townshend and is excited about it.
