Cat Power Channels Dylan's Magic with new live album

Renowned singer-songwriter Cat Power is set to release her captivating new live album, 'Cat Power Sings Dylan: The 1966 Royal Albert Hall Concert', via Domino Recording Co. on Friday, November 10.

Recorded at London's Royal Albert Hall on November 5, 2022, this album features Chan Marshall's enchanting recreation of Bob Dylan's legendary 1966 performance, blending acoustic and electric elements with a full band.

“More than the work of any other songwriter, Dylan’s songs have spoken to me, and inspired me since I first began hearing them at 5 years old,” said Marshall.

Cat Power's deep connection with Dylan's music shines through every note. Her rendition of 'She Belongs To Me' pays homage to the original composition, while 'Ballad Of A Thin Man' delivers a soulful and captivating interpretation. In a moment, reminiscent of the historic 1966 concert, the live audience even echoes history with a spontaneous "Judas!" cry, to which Marshall serenely invokes the name of Jesus.

Cat Power has been a cornerstone of indie rock for nearly 25 years. "Cat Power Sings Dylan" adds to her legacy of reimagining classics, infusing them with her unique artistry. The album promises to be a transformative musical experience when it arrives on November 10, 2023, paying homage to Dylan's monumental impact on the world of music.
