After sharing the poignant ‘Please Don’t Be’ last month, which was his debut release for his new label home V2 Records, today, rising Stockholm based musician Hazlett has released another stunning single titeld ‘Even If It’s Lonely’.
It is a track that wraps us in a comforting blanket of gorgeous guitar strumming and piano sounds. ‘Even If It’s Lonely’ is an ode to platonic love, or as Hazlett calls it “warm love”. He elaborates further on this: “Not the kind with fireworks or the one bestselling novels are written about, but the kind you have with your closest friends. The kind that often guys don’t give to each other. Drifting along to the undertone of how much I miss that feeling from moving around so much.”
Hazlett’s brand of ballroom folk and vast nostalgia will fill your heart but let you cry. Born in Australia, bloomed in Sweden, this modern-day nomad has been earning a place in punters' hearts with his live appearances and fondness of an intriguing story. From his stunning 2017 debut EP 'Honey, Where Is My Home' to the dream-induced 2020 follow-up 'Thundering Hopes', Hazlett has an affinity for dancing the line of “my life is a mess” to “everything happens for a reason” and making you feel a part of it all. This has led to him being featured in key tastemaker press such as NME, Clash, The Line of Best Fit, Atwood, Music Feeds to name just a few. With the rising musician currently working on more brand-new material for his album debut with V2 Records, it’s clear Hazlett is weaving his way to something bigger.
